PARTAY!

So my husband and I decided to host our first ever event in early February. A wine tasting afternoon for few people at our flat (apartment). Seeing as we want to keep it fun and SO informal, I thought to move away from stiff and go with a festive theme, like white and dots! Dots galore! Now, I’m planning to make all the décor from scratch and things I have already, like dotted wrapping paper, coloured paper and dotted fabric. I’m just a bit scared of accidentally creating a CIRCUS theme!!! Lol. So keeping that in mind, and that the ‘menu’ consists of wine, cheese and fruit, I need some ideas, some creative inspiration! Here’s hoping I get some before Feb. I’ll do a follow up post, either before the event to say how it’s going, or after to report whether it was a success or not. Month of Movember...

Bonjour! Aujourd’hui, c’est mardi, treize novembre deux mille douze. Yes, you guessed it, French. I make it a point of writing the date out in words every day. Why? Heaven knows, but I like it. Maybe somewhere I’ll get a million dollar (American dollar, not Zim) question that goes: “What is today’s date in French?” I bet then it wouldn’t be so dilly, hey… if only. LOL Okay, so as you might’ve noticed for the last 13 days, we are in November (YAY!) also known as ‘MOvember’ (a portmanteau of the word “ moustache ” and " November ") a month in which awareness and funds are raised for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. This campaign is meant to ‘change the face of men’s health’… cool hey! Anyway, i t’s a fun month to do moustachy-themed crafts and projects. On my FB page I have some moustache cupcakes that I found SO adorable, creator unknown though. At work we have some fun guys who started their Movember moustaches on the

Shavathon

This past friday we had a shavathon at my work: so much fun!!! We made posters and hung bunting and balloons. On the day we had a shaving station where we shaved people's heads and sprayed hair. We also sold boerewors rolls. All the proceeds goes to Cansa (cancer association).
